Private Schools
Little Hands brings extensive experience with neurotypical and neurodivergent children to private schools throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. We work on behalf of children, and collaboratively with teachers and school staff. Our Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists work with caregivers, school teams, and other professionals as needed to develop successful plans for meeting IEP goals and objectives.

All Little Hands therapists hold degrees, certifications, and licenses required by the State of California, and our national credentialing association. Through professional collaboration and continuing education, they provide leading-edge expertise across a wide array of specializations.
Screenings: Preschool and kindergarten screenings are used to identify early language, behavior, attention, and/or movement patterns that may indicate further need for assessment and intervention. Options include classroom-wide and individual screenings.
Evaluations: Once a child is identified through a screening as a candidate for additional support, a private evaluation between Little Hands and the parent(s) can be scheduled.
School Therapy: Once an evaluation has been completed and a treatment plan is in place, weekly therapy is ready to begin. Little Hands can offer therapy at the school (therapists can work in outside spaces, hallways, and/or a small room). If space permits, Little Hands can offer development of a small sensory motor room on the school campus (we can consult on products, placement of products, etc.).

In-Service/Professional Development: Topic options may include:
- The Zone of Regulations: A basic self regulation course
- Social Thinking: A basic summary of social thinking strategies utilized by speech and occupational therapists
- The importance of play in sensory motor development
- Anxiety disorders that impact learning
- Creating a sensory rich and friendly classroom
- OT/ST – The Basics: Defining occupational and speech therapies and how to identify a child who may benefit from such
